Our team created the game Castle Crawler to teach children ages 3 to 5 inhibitory control in an easy and fun way. This game we created is most similar to a Simon Says game where we instruct the child to follow a specific set of rules and then redirect slightly to trigger the Inhibitory Control function. In our game, we decided for the child to be presented with a card showing a symbol, and an avatar that asks the child to help them find the right card. The child must then wait for the right card to appear and then tap on the app’s phone screen to indicate when the right card is found.

We sat in the IT Lab for hours discussing different approaches to the game and usually used a white board to jot down ideas and then individually work upon them until the next meeting.
